A drive out to a part of the world we’ve never visited and a journey into Alex and Rich’s past. We loved meeting these two nutters and their cute shih zhu puppy dogs.
Rich and Emily are getting married at the lovely Dunedin Country House which is one of our favourite wedding venues in Hull, so it was really nice of Rich to invite us to the wedding after the engagement shoot and booking us!
We love how impulsive these guys are, Rich had made the booking, making the executive decision before Emily had even seen the pictures! After convincing him to show Emily our photos, the booking was confirmed and we were then introduced to their snoring puppies over the phone, then serenaded by Rich. If anyone can beat that for a random telephone conversation, we’d love to hear it!
For the shoot they took us to a “secret” orchard they know of and proceeded to educate us city dwellers all about different fruit trees, it was all a bit of a mish mash to be honest as 80% of the time was spent making sure the puppies “Mitzie moonshine” and “Peppa poo poo face” didn’t decide to go for a swim or eat too many fallen apples.
Alex and Rich quickly realised that they knew each other from their pasts in the local alternative music scene in Hull; Tuesdays at Helter Skelter, Wednesdays in Room, Thursdays at Shiver, probably Piper on a Friday and then of course Spiders on a Saturday (back when it was actually good)
Neither could really remember how they funded their chaotic lifestyles but insist it was good times!
The sweetest part of the story for these two is being told that the romance blossomed when a drunk Rich told Emily that she was sat in his seat (she wasn’t)
Emily pretty much told him to sod off and somehow between then and now they’ve ended up engaged to be married… yeah we’re not sure either but getting to know them it becomes more easily understood 🙂
So, with all these good vibes and with wedding season in full swing, we’re going to leave you with this picture of a puppy trying to get a feather off it’s nose. Enjoy!
